Spearheaded by East Liberty Development, Inc. (ELDI) in collaboration with Main + Elm, the Larimer Affordable Homeownership Project will create eight affordable housing opportunities across Pittsburgh’s Larimer neighborhood. The initiative includes the new construction of six modular homes, including one ADA-accessible residence, designed by Module Design Inc., as well as the rehabilitation of two existing homes. Distributed across scattered community sites, all units will be designated for households earning up to 80% of the Area Median Income. By repurposing vacant lots and blighted properties into quality housing, the project aims to eliminate blight, revitalize residential blocks, and foster lasting homeownership. Furthermore, the effort will drive local economic growth by engaging regional contractors, promoting M/WBE participation, generating construction jobs, and advancing broader neighborhood renewal.
